The following streets and highways are hereby designated as school zones:

Pine Street between the intersection of Second Street and Third Street;

Third Street between the intersection of Pine Street and Cedar Street;

Cedar Street between the intersection of Third Street and Second Street;

Second Street between the intersection of Cedar Street and Pine Street.

Fourth Avenue between the intersection of Spruce Street and Olive Street;

Olive Street between the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Fifth Street;

Fifth Street between the intersection of Olive Street and Spruce Street;

Spruce Street between the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Fifth Street.

North Walnut Street between the intersection of Kaw Avenue and Park Road.

Cleveland Street between its intersection with First Avenue and its intersection with K-31 Highway.

No person shall drive any vehicle on a street designated as a school zone at a speed in excess of twenty (20) miles per hour during the hours of seven thirty o’clock (7:30) A.M. to nine thirty o’clock (9:30) A.M. and two thirty o’clock (2:30) P.M. to four thirty o’clock (4:30) P.M., Monday through Friday of each week during which time school is actually in session in the building or buildings located in and adjacent to each of the zones specified in section 14-301.

It shall be unlawful for any person to violate any of the provisions of this article. Violations shall be considered an ordinance traffic infraction, as the same is defined by applicable Kansas law and shall be punished in the manner provided in subsection 14-104(b).
